Telluride Colorado Real Estate
Telluride, Colorado is the remarkable crown jewel of the Rocky Mountains. The town was first discovered by Ute Indians who came during the summer months to hunt, followed by fur traders and miners. Telluride quieted after the Gold Rush, until 1972, when the Telluride ski resort was built. The development of the ski resort promoted financial and residential growth—making the land in Telluride and the surrounding areas as valuable as the gold and silver miners once reaped.
While the Town of Telluride represents a relatively small portion of the county geographically, it is the most densely populated area of the county. Telluride officially serves as the county seat, and is still considered to be the hub of San Miguel County and center for in-town luxury real estate.
Coupled with its beautiful 14,000ft mountains and blue ribbon waterfalls, Telluride, Colorado continues to be the sought after place for residents and visitors alike; and, is now home to Peaks Real Estate Sotheby’s International Realty.
